DR. CRAIG ZELIZER, @CraigZelizer
Craig is the Founder and CEO of PCDN. Craig has dedicated his life to being an entrepreneur and to creating a more peaceful world.
Since its founding in 2007, Craig has grown PCDN to over 36,500 members representing more than 180 countries.
From 2006 through May 2016, he was a professor in the Georgetown Conflict Resolution MA Program, serving as the program’s second faculty hire. He helped grow the program into one of the world’s leading academic programs, assisted in a 300% growth of students and faculty, developed countless new partnerships and served in the program’s senior leadership, including serving as Associate Director for more than six years (also twice as Interim Director). He made the decision in spring 2016 to leave his position to focus full-time on scaling PCDN. He does continue to serve as an adjunct faculty in the program teaching a class on social entrepreneurship. Before creating PCDN, Craig also helped to found two NG0s – the Alliance for Conflict Transformation and the TEAM foundation in Hungary.
Craig serves on a number of boards and advisory boards including the Alliance for Peacebuilding, Inzone Project, TechChange, Move This World, Amani Institute, and several others. He spent two years in Hungary as Fulbright Scholar and was a Boren Fellow in Bosnia. He has led trainings, workshops and consultancies in over 15 countries in partnerships with organizations including USIP, USAID, IREX, CRS and others.
Craig is a recognized leader in the social sector field. He has received several awards including George Mason’s School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution’s alumni of the year award and an alumni career achievement award from Central European University.
He has published widely and his most recent edited book is Integrated Peacebuilding Innovative Approaches to Transformation Conflict (2013, Westview Press). In addition, Craig co-edited the book Building Peace, Practical Reflections from the Field (Kumarian Press, 2009), as well as numerous articles, blog posts and reports.
DR. CATALINA ROJAS, Director of Innovation
Dr. Catalina Rojas is Director of Innovation at the Peace and Collaborative Development Network. At PCDN, Dr. Rojas helps lead strategic development, partnerships, content development and programming to engage over 35,000 academic, practitioners and organizations around the world.
Dr. Catalina Rojas is a noted expert on gender, development and conflict resolution. As director of Global Partnerships at Women Thrive Worldwide, she created a worldwide women’s network and led training and consultation processes to increase the advocacy capacity of women’s NGOs and CBOs in Central America and West Africa.
Prior to joining Women Thrive, Dr. Rojas was a consultant on gender, conflict and development issues with various international organizations including the IIS, OAS, USAID, UNIFEM.
Dr. Rojas has a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, she has over two decades of experience working with civil society organizations in the Global South, including working in the peace movement in her home country.
Dr. Rojas has taught, trained and conducted research in Latin America, South East Asia, West Africa and the U.S. including Georgetown University.
Dr. Rojas was the recipient of the 2015 Dewey Winborne Community awards for digital do-gooders. This award was giving in the context of the SXSW conference, the biggest conference gathering leaders in the interactive, music and film industries in Austin, Texas.
Sahil is a business consultant with close to 4 years of experience of working with Ernst & Young on several large projects in banking institutions in US and Canada. His experience includes business development, project management & implementation, risk management, and budgeting/financial analysis. He hopes to utilize his consulting experience for working on social causes in an effective and scalable manner. Sahil has deeply engaged himself in social change and sustainable development since 2014; in his latest efforts, he moved to India in 2015 to pursue a Masters degree in Sustainable Development Practice from TERI University (New Delhi). Since then, he has been gaining first-hand exposure to local on-the-ground issues through his education and field experiences. In the summer of 2016, he is on a two-month research project at Auroville, an international experimental township in southern India.
MARÍA HOLSOPPLE, Strategic Communication Advisor
Is a communications professional with experience in higher education, cause organizations and visual art.
She has previously worked for the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University and the Alliance for Peacebuilding in Washington, DC. Currently, she is employed at Georgetown University as the Program Director of the Global Strategic Communications executive master’s program. Maria holds a Bachelor’s in communications with a focus in visual art and a master’s in public relations.
In addition, she has an executive master’s certificate in nonprofit leadership from Georgetown University’s School of Public Policy.
JORDAN KOLETIC, Program Assistant
Jordan Koletic is responsible for posting, generating content as well as supporting PCDN´s senior team in various administrative tasks. Jordan is also a Strategy Analytics Consultant on Wells Fargo’s Wealth Management Strategy team where she is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to joining the financial services industry, Jordan interned as an investigative reporter at KosovaLive 360, a major news agency located in the capital city of Pristina, Kosovo. While there she researched, interviewed and reported on a variety of key issues for this freshly minted country, including its push for United Nations recognized sovereignty and efforts to field a 2012 Olympic team. Jordan holds dual BA degrees in Journalism and International Relations from Miami University. While at Miami, Jordan was a member of the Varsity Swim and Dive team and spent five months studying in Eastern Africa.
MATEO ROJAS BORRERO, Graphic Designer
Graphic designer by profession, with experience in editorial and magazine diagramming, logo design an illustration. Having worked on character design, environmental design, magazine illustration and concept art. Mateo also has experience combining the activity of illustration with video-game design, working as texturer, interface and 2d designer, and game-play mechanics designer for different last generation console games.
ZOHAR ROM, Social Media Producer
Is an award-winning filmmaker who is increasingly involved with videos involving peace, social justice and social entrepreneurs.
He produced the U.S./Israeli documentary Where Heaven & Earth Touch which tells the stories of 10 heroes across the U.S., and he’s extending the reach of the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP) by creating an online video campaign that promotes its mission, influences legislators and attracts funders.
