The Institutional Learning Team
The Institutional Learning Team (ILT) was set up in 2002 with the aim of supporting Search as a learning organization by enhancing the effectiveness of Search’s programming through a commitment to excellence in program design, monitoring and evaluation (DM&E), and through continuous learning institutionally and within related fields. The Institutional Learning Team is comprised of the Vice President of Programs, a Director of DM&E, a Sr. Program Manager for ILT, a Sr. Regional Specialist, three Regional DM&E Specialists, DM&E Coordinators/Associates, and the DME for Peace Project Manager, and is a growing team.

The ongoing needs for investment in program quality, learning and design requires capacities to fundraise for the resources needed. The Program Coordinator position is a key resource within the ILT team to be actively pursuing various external partnerships and fundraising opportunities. This will ensure a greater durability and relevance to the actions of this team, with longer duration and more robust funds invested into this unit.
The roles and responsibilities include:
- Support on outreach, networking, and writing of proposals and concept notes in order to seek partnerships and develop funding streams relevant to the vision and objectives of ILT and the Strategy & program quality team.
- Manage revenue capture plans for all the program and technical units under the VP Programs (ILT, Children & Youth, Snr Director, Strategy & Program quality)
- Ensuring the visibility of Search’s key deliverables in the scope of learning, program quality and strategy
- Provide support to the Institutional Learning Team and Program Quality and Strategy teams in planning direct support and in-country trainings
2018 Annual Goals
- Capture plans developed and reviewed quarterly with Institutional Learning Team, Children & Youth Division, and Program Quality and Strategy Team
- Define benchmarks for concept notes to prioritize with each team, and produce concept notes to support the three capture plans
- Development of at least 3 two-pagers outlining organization-wide results in priority areas for program quality and learning
- Regular collaboration with communications team to update the Search website to reflect latest programmatic learning, new tools and training materials, and organization-wide results
You meet the following qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in conflict & peace studies or related field; master’s degree an advantage
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business/program development for international organizations, with a preference for focus on conflict transformation and/or international development.
- Proven track record in successful proposal writing and program development.
- Specific experience with a range of donors, both governmental as well as corporate and philanthropic
- Excellent written communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and procedures, and able to meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
- A high level of personal efficiency, and the ability to balance multiple urgent or important tasks without undue stress and to work in a fast paced environment.
