Are you passionate about innovation in the humanitarian sector? Do you have extensive experience of designing and delivering structured innovation processes? Are you a talented communicator who can facilitate a workshop in an engaging way or tell a compelling story about our innovations? Are you good at building relationships with a diverse range of people?
We are looking for a highly experienced Innovation Manager who is ready to apply their expertise and develop their skills further within a fast-paced and creative team.
Elrha is a leading actor in the humanitarian system focused on research and innovation. We work to improve outcomes for those affected by crises by ensuring that humanitarian practice is based on evidence of what works, and tools and techniques used are continually improved through innovation. We fund and support research and innovation projects around the world, working in partnership with humanitarian organisations, the international research community, the private sector and other actors engaged in research and innovation.
This post requires an individual looking for a challenging role, who is ready to take on this exciting and varied opportunity supporting a busy and ambitious team. You will lead on the strategic development and operational delivery of one of our directed innovation programmes, with a Gender Based Violence or Disability focus. You will:
- Manage the innovation portfolio to achieve its maximum impact through fostering effective partnerships and providing support to grantees
- Work collaboratively with sector and technical experts to develop and share technical expertise on managing humanitarian innovation
- Represent the programme and Elrha externally at conferences and events
- Manage this programme’s funding stream(s) and budget and report to the programme donor(s) and other stakeholders
To be successful you will need to have significant experience in the design and delivery of structured innovation processes, bringing ideas from conception to completion. You will have excellent communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse stakeholder audience. In addition, you will be a highly motivated self-starter with experience of working on sensitive or complex issues, for example vulnerable or marginalised groups, protection, or disability.
