ActionAid is currently recruiting for a Policy Specialist to work within its Humanitarian Policy and Practice team.
The Policy Specialist role sits within the Research and Programme Policy unit, which is comprised of policy and technical advisers who advance policy perspectives and programme-led learning to ActionAid UK’s target donors, influencers, academic audiences and policy makers.
A key focus of the Policy Specialist role is to develop high-quality research and policy, rooted in ActionAid’s programme and policy work, and applying a feminist lens to all research and analysis.
The role demands someone who will bring research skills, networking ability and a spirit of collaboration to ActionAid UK as it delivers its new 5-year Strategy – Together, with Women and Girls.
To succeed in this role, applicants must have experience of working in the humanitarian sector, along with knowledge of the relevant actors working on women’s rights.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of some of the opportunities and challenges for ActionAid in terms of linking its programme work with policy asks.
Applicants must have humanitarian experience and ideally experience of delivering women’s rights focused research and policy analysis – or at least a theoretical understanding of this.
If you have a passion for protecting the rights of women and girls living in poverty, along with experience working in Southern countries or working closely with people in Southern countries, we look forward to hearing from you.
ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.
