    We invite you to join us for a taste of the Summer Peacebuilding Institute (SPI) at our annual Community Day on February 15, 2019, on campus at EMU in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This is a time for you to learn more about the Summer Peacebuilding Institute, meet others in our community, and gain new tools and skills to help you personally and professionally.

    Join us for an engaging training and workshop series, with an emphasis on local efforts and locally adaptable tools, that will enhance the facilitation, leadership and organizational skills you need at your office or in the community.

    Workshops Available to Enhance your Skills

    • Circle Processes in Schools: An Interactive Introduction to the Why and How
    • Transformational Leadership for Organizational Change
    • Trustbuilding in Organizations and Communities
    • Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resiliency
    • Local Responses to Violent Extremism
    • Designing Facilitated Processes

    Registration is $50 and includes the following:

    • Two 90-minute workshop sessions.
    • Morning plenary by Dr. Kathy Evans on restorative justice in educational contexts.
    • Catered lunch presentation from Gray Jay Provisions by Soula Pefkaros (MA CT 2010) on food justice.
    • Morning coffee and pastries (sponsored by Everence).
    • Waiver code for the $50 SPI application fee or the STAR application fee.
    • One free Little Book of Justice and Peacebuilding.
