Voqal’s Fellowship program is a talent and technology accelerator for tomorrow’s social entrepreneurs. We’re searching for change-makers and thought leaders who want to launch the next “big idea” that will increase equity for those who experience political, economic, and/or social marginalization.
Are you ready to shift your innovative idea into real progressive impact? Apply now!
Ideal Candidates Ideal candidates for the fellowship are in the early stages of project development. They are driven, tech-savvy social change agents who thrive under self-direction. We are recruiting early-career stage creative thinkers with a track record of advancing progressive social change and/or using innovative solutions to help communities.
Project Requirements One of the few early-stage fellowships, Voqal’s Fellowship is designed to increase equity and further progressive, social justice-oriented causes. Ideal applicants will have a specific issue or challenge they are looking to address over the course of their fellowship. Projects can be broad in scope, or a simple tool that will help resolve a social inequity or lead to progressive social change. Some of the types of projects fellows could pursue include:
Tools for Wrangling Big Datasets
Software for Social Change Agents
Program Details and Eligibility Fellows should treat the fellowship as a sabbatical and may not work full-time during the fellowship. Fellows may not be enrolled in graduate school. The fellowship is intended to provide an opportunity to build out an early stage idea, concept, or innovation that would not be possible to accomplish with a full-time job.
Applications for projects that are part of an established organization or are well beyond the initial start-up period will not be considered for this fellowship. Candidates must be able to verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and be based in the United States for the duration of their fellowship.
Fellows have six months to complete their project and will receive a $30,000 stipend; an additional stipend to offset health insurance costs may be available.
