KICK FOR PEACE ELECTIONS NON-VIOLENCE CAMPAIGN IN LIBERIA

For a democracy to survive and flourish in country like Liberia, a critical mass of its citizens must possess the skills, embody the values, and manifest the behaviors that accord with democracy. They must know enough about the basic features of a democratic political system to be able to access it when their interests are at stake, and they must believe in the importance of certain key democratic values, such as tolerance for divergent viewpoints and support for the rule of law.
The project recognizes and demonstrates the value of sport to unite, motivate, inspire, educate and encourage peaceful solutions and cultural understanding and teach essential values such as cooperation and respect for the rule of law.
The project also feature friendly sporting events and soccer matches, along with educational presentations and music around themes dedicated to the objectives of the project, electoral nonviolence awareness campaign. The event is an opportunity for young people in Liberia to demonstrate their commitment to make their country a better and healthier place and to express their solidarity in the mission of national friendship, peaceful solutions and nonviolence.
Through the games, electoral non-violence awareness and sensitization messages will reach 100,000 residence and communities’ dwellers in twenty-one (21) political districts in Montserrado and Bomi Counties in Liberia and will last for ten months starting in January 2017. funding and partnership needed.
