This class explores cutting edge research on over 25 different approaches to preventing violent extremism. Based on ten years of field work around the world and her edited book, The Ecology of Violent Extremism, professor Lisa Schirch will host guest speakers, and engage participants with in-class simulations, case studies, and mini-lectures full of important data and research. This course will explore international and domestic US extremism, including a discussion of threats from white nationalist groups and creative responses.
