Arcadia’s IPCR program will train you to be an advocate, activist, and social entrepreneur who is able to develop innovative approaches to global and local peace building. You will be well-prepared for careers in the nonprofit/ nongovernmental organization sector, as well as in other public, private, and academic fields. Through project-based learning, global fieldwork, and internships, you will develop practical, operational skills such as program planning, program evaluation, mediation, and conflict assessment. In your classes, you will have the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary group of faculty scholars to understand the social, political, historical, and economic contexts in which peace and conflict are produced. You will also choose a concentration in either:
- Social Justice: Advocacy and Activism
- NGO Management and Social Entrepreneurship
Concentrations are professional pathways that enable you to acquire an additional set of professional skills in a specific area of the field. These skills help you develop as a peacebuilder and make you more competitive in the job market. Dual degrees are also offered with Counseling, Public Health and International Relations and Diplomacy.
Program Tuition includes a totally subsidized trip to Northern Ireland for 8-10 days and $2500 travel purse for an additional International field experiences. All applicants are automatically considered for scholarships and graduate assistantships. 100% of our incoming class in 2017 received a partial scholarship.
